Locally made shoes

One of the Ten Key Values of the Greens is Community-based Economics. My friend Tian invested his GWB "economic stimulus" check in a pair of custom made shoes. He posted a photo essay here. http://tian.greens.org/MountainView/My/Nook/NewShoes.shtml
While we're on the subject of photo essays, I made a pair of relatively sensitive wi-fi antennas. The "Pringles can-tenna" is a famous design, based on the simpler RF horn. I used a coffee can for that. The only high-tech parts are the connectors, which I had to mail order a pack of ten for ten bucks. I couldn't find a good write-up, and hope mine helps the next hobbyist. Photo essay here. http://www.greens.org/~cls/cantenna/
