Seeking reports from Reading

Attending the annual meeting?

Please post any news, photos, observations, whatever, for those of stuck at home.

Make it a comment below, an individual blog post, or, if it's easier for you, just send it to me (or use greencommons (at) gmail (dot) com) and I'll post for you (include your name and state party).

I would especially appreciate any photos of the candidates, party officials, speakers, locations, etc. that we could use now and in the future.

Green Ian Wilder is blogging from Reading at:
On the Wilder Side at http://wilderside.wordpress.com/

Also leanin' green (I believe he said he's a Dem but he definitely said he's sympathetic to us Greens) posting "live" thoughts and video from the meeting:
"Paul -V-" at http://brainshrub.com/. He's being sponsored by the Green Party's Kai Schwandes who's web site "BrainShrub" is hosting Paul's blogging.

Great stuff! I may post on it later when time permits, but its so participatory that I can't really do live blogging on it.

Hugh Esco is here. I'll ask him along with any others I find tomorrow if they're blogging.

I saw that Scott McClarty had newspapers with articles about the GPANC out on a table yesterday but didn't get a chance to look at them. Maybe I can get him to supply a list at some point. In the meantime here's some items I spotted:

Most of the workshops, most all of the candidates' talks and debates, the talk by Nader and McKinney, ALL that and MORE is making its way to the web. So much so that those who could not make it will likely end up feeling fairly satisfied with their post-event accessibility - not quite like being there, but not bad. As it becomes available I'll post links on this site.

Here's the first batch (more coming): http://gp.org/meeting2007/

Although I'm a Democratic Party activist in Asheville, NC - I'm live-blogging from the 2007 Green Party National convention in Reading, Pennsylvania. I'm the only media covering the event. :)

While DailyKos is a space by Democrats for Democrats - I felt it was worth giving a quick "heads-up" because they could be major spoilers in 2008. I'd like to share what I've learned, and, hopefully, start an internal conversation about how we, as Democrats, can have Greens in our tent rather than run against them.

...

How about respect as a separate party and institute Instant Runoff Voting and proportional representation.

I've just read DKos for the very first time.

And the very last.

Wow -- the hate hate *hate* for Greens is no less than irrational. Convinces me more than ever, that there's another word for "centrist" and "moderate" Dems. They're called Republicans.
