The DailyKos Chart of Political Action

commoner's picture

From Jason at DemocracyinAction, who adds:

At least the healing, back-to-fundraising process can begin in the bosom of YearlyKos, whose namesake shared these observations on FISA capitulation day:

We are a full-fledged partner in the progressive coalition ... with our allies in the labor movement, our friends in the issue groups, and our party leadership.

...

[E]arly hostility – based on substantive differences – is now giving way to new respect and trust.

We in the club, yo! What's systematic, institutional betrayal if not a call for more and better Democrats?

Original title was The Cycle of Netroots Life, which I changed because I am adament that "netroots" not strictly refer to Democrats.

Continually repeating the same ineffectual action while expecting a different outcome.

That cartoon is brilliant!

That is exactly the way it works, except that what applies to the "entroots" applies as well to "leaders" of the labor movement, the women's movement, the civil rights movement and some environmental groups.

I have just been reading an article by Noam Chomsky. He says he sometimes schedules talks years ahead of time. When they ask him for a title for his talk a year away he always replies "The Crisis in the Middle East." It always works because there is always a "crisis."

The same thing could be said for "The Crisis in the Inner-City" where we always told it's "The Most Important Election Ever" because Black men like me are an "endangered species" and the schools are in "crisis" and the gangs are in "crisis" and unless we stick together ("Those Other People Will Take Over")blah, blah, blah!
